My grandmother was Ellen Maria Ronlund the daughter of Axel Pihlajaviita. She was born on the 12th July 1894 in Isojoki, Finland. She and her family arrived in Brisbane from Finland on the 15th February 1900. On the 27th August 1900 the family moved from Yungaba in Brisbane to a farm at Nambour or more precisely Image Flat. The Ronlund children attended Highworth School whilst they were living at Image Flat. This link to the Sunshine Coast Council's web page for the area will assist in geographically locating where Image Flat is. Highworth State School is no longer in existence but Image Flat and Highworth are neighbouring areas to the west of Nambour. The Queensland State Government Archives note that Highworth Provisional School, No. 963 opened on 27 May 1901. It became a State School on 1 January 1909, and then closed on 15 August 1932. From the farm at Image Flat they moved to Cooroy in late 1911 or early 1912.
